him. (via thisistheglamorous)
I love Anthony Bourdain because he loves Melbourne more than Sydney and he hates the same people I hate (Jamie Oliver, Sandra Lee, etc).

I don’t understand why Australia is such an expensive country to live in. I think maybe we are used to being paid well, we think that paying more is somehow better (AKA ‘The luxury effect’), and companies are happy to pull the wool over our eyes.
Guess how much Montague’s Australian distributor sells this bike for? A$1,499. That’s almost 100% more than it is on Amazon, seeing as the US$ and A$ are effectively the same now. I very much doubt transporting these bikes costs $700 per unit.
…
And this Amazon retailer doesn’t even ship internationally! GraRRGH!

I have a bit of a moral dilemma. I have a friend who has been nominated on FBi for two smacs. Click through to see one of the awards s/he has been nominated for. The problem is, I don’t necessarily know if they deserve my vote. They’re good, but are they the best? They’re up against some tough Sydney competition and they’re up against a song that I listened to on repeat for just about FOREVER.
But then again… they’re my friend.
Anyway, I thought you might like to listen to some of this music. There is honestly some great Australian music through the link. Maybe I could put in a vote on behalf of my tumblr followers. Which song do you prefer?
Sadface.
The last Mark Ronson and Girl Talk LPs came out in 2010.
Who else can I turn to for catchy optimism?
It cost $7 million to build the Titanic, completed in 1912.
Adjusted for inflation, today that would be… $164,586,969.70....
